![]() The Arai were successful in this plan and sent one of the weapons back to Soria just before it detonated, wiping out most of the Mofang. He implores the player to help provide water to each Tree in the four cells and restart the power systems in Hunrath to allow him to return them back to Earth.Īs the player explores the worlds, they learn that the species had developed a plan to swap the Mofang WMDs back to Soria when the Mofang swapped them over to the individual cells. ( Robyn Miller), opted to stay behind in Hunrath and isolated himself in a safe room, believing the others were dead. Most then took shelter through cryogenic hibernation in a Villein "Silo". Friendly Mofang warned the other species, and they instituted various lockdown protocols to slow the Mofang from planting these weapons. The Mofang felt the other species were holding them back, and developed a weapon of mass destruction capable of devastating the other spheres. However, the player finds they had just arrived after a major conflict. The four species found ways to harness the Seeds to transfer themselves between their worlds at will, allowing for collaboration and to try to find a means home. The humans had peacefully worked with alien species from the other worlds to understand this process: the technologically-advanced Mofang from the planet Soria, the insect-like Arai species from Kaptar, and the peaceful Villein species from Maray. ![]() The Trees periodically drop Seeds that travel through time and space and swap spherical areas from one linked world with another. Further exploration reveals that the town is called Hunrath, and that dozens of humans from across the 19th-21st centuries had been brought here, in the same manner the player was, for unknown reasons.įrom journals left by some of these people, the player learns that there are four such spheres or "cells", linked via Trees in the center of each cell to a common Heart. Exploring the town, they find it seemingly empty outside of holographic pre-recorded welcoming messages from its mayor Josef Janssen ( Patrick Treadway). They can see the alien world outside of this larger sphere, but cannot pass through it. One light resolves into a seed-like object that immobilizes the player and transports them and a small sphere of the park to an alien world, within the confines of a much larger sphere of Earth taken from an early-20th century Arizona mining town. The player, while at a campground, sees strange lights in the sky. Plot Within Obduction, small spheres of human environments, such as a portion of this house and the land in front of it, have been transported to an alien environment, and players must solve puzzles that mix the human and alien elements. Many objects in the game can be selected and examined in a full three-dimensional view, allowing the player to discover possible hidden drawers or features that aid in puzzle solving. The game features traditional navigation controls for first-person games as well as a node-based point and click system. The game, played out as an adventure game from the first-person perspective, has the player exploring the environment of several different worlds, which includes a mix of alien landscapes and familiar human settings, solving puzzles, and making decisions that can influence how the game ends. In Obduction, the player's character has been abducted from Earth by aliens and transported to one of several alien worlds, with the goal of trying to find a way home. The game was made available for Amazon Luna on October 20, 2020. The Xbox One version of the game was released on April 10, 2020. The PlayStation 4 version was launched in August 2017 with a patch arriving shortly afterwards to support PlayStation VR. A virtual reality version for Oculus Rift system was published in November 2016, while HTC Vive and Oculus Touch versions were released on March 22, 2017. The game was funded via a Kickstarter campaign in October 2013, and was released in August 2016 for Windows-based PCs, with a macOS version released in March 2017. The player must explore and solve puzzles to figure out how to return home. In the game, the player finds their character transported to strange alien worlds but with human elements within the settings. Obduction is considered a spiritual successor to Cyan's previous adventure games, Myst and Riven. Obduction is an adventure video game developed by Cyan Worlds.

A skull and crossbones and/or fire will appear in her eyes when she is angry or has an evil grin on her face. Also through new facial expressions, her anger is clearly seen. Her new voice has also been used to exaggerate her tomboyish nature. In particular, Buttercup hates being called "princess", as she will fly into an annoyed rage at the villains who call her as such. She really enjoys playing death ball with them and is considered a very good friend to them. Buttercup would rather hang out with The Derbytantes, a punk culture gang of roller skaters. Like her original counterpart, she appears to enjoy fighting villains and criminals and despise girly things like skirts and scrapbooking. However, she happens to be somewhat of a troublemaker. Among the Powerpuff Girls, Buttercup is a tomboy and the most aggressive like her original 1998 series counterpart, usually having an angrier disposition in comparison to Bubbles and Blossom. Like the other girls, not much has changed her personality. When flying she leaves a straight, sharp, jagged light green trail. Craig McCracken stated in a World Premiere Toons interview that she is "the real quiet but real tough one". She also has desires to be the leader instead of Blossom (revealed in "Octi Evil"). In one episode, she fights a monster all by herself without her sisters' help. Also, she may be stronger than her other sisters, as revealed in the episode "Octi Evil" when she throws a monster rolled up in a ball to Blossom, which goes through various buildings. She is often reckless but can be fairly witty at times, and she is frequently sarcastic. ![]() She is shown to be fairly protective of her sisters, though, and will not hesitate to confront anybody who speaks badly of them, such as in the episode "The Boys Are Back in Town" when she unwittingly discovers the Rowdyruff Boys' weakness after hitting Butch's tongue, who was laughing at Bubbles after putting a slug down the back of her dress while in sort of an unconscious state. Buttercup can be selfish at times, as revealed in one episode when the Powerpuff Girls started working for silver dollar allowances and Buttercup became fascinated by silver dollars, but soon discovered that she could obtain more by knocking out criminals' teeth and leaving the teeth for the Tooth Fairy. Buttercup can be the surliest Powerpuff Girl at times but is practically fearless, loyal, quick-witted and willing to fight. She can be hard to agree with to Bubbles and Blossom at times, but is the toughest fighter of the Powerpuff Girls, not only because of her "spice" side but because, as revealed in one episode, the reason why Buttercup tries her hardest to defeat whichever antagonists she must is because of her green blanket. Her personality is "spice", she frowned and pouted when the Professor named her simply because, like her previously-named sisters, her name "also starts with B". She is known for being the most tomboyish and aggressive of the team and she are also known as "The Toughest Fighter." Buttercup Utonium is one of the main protagonists of The Powerpuff Girls. Many guys commented on how they want girls to feel comfortable with their bodies, and trying to stuff them into pants that don’t make sense anatomically doesn’t work, are there really pants that fit your littlest AND largest parts of your bottom half? Many guys don’t believe so. The reasons ranged from being too short, too tight, too revealing, or just “a gigantic cop out” when it comes to wearing revealing things. Or your friends ife is full of moments like these: with the big house in Sagaponack call to say re having a dressy dinner this weekend. I hate to break it to my fellow lovers of tummy-tucking shorts, but eight of the 26 said they absolutely hate them. I even had to send a picture to one of them because they didn’t know what “high-waisted” meant. How are you not attracted to long legs?Įven with persistent badgering, I could not get these three guys to commit to a side. “If they are too high, then your legs look too long, and that’s not attractive.” Excuse you, that’s what we are all striving for. One guy explained he likes high waisted shorts, but only if they aren’t too high. However, super modest is not always hottest. When I asked for their preference, guys seemed to like the darker washed, no rip shorts better than distressed ones. What they mean by “done right” is your ass doesn’t hang out the bottom, you aren’t constantly pulling them down because they ride up, and they are more on the modest side. ![]() High waisted shorts, when done right, are appealing to a large number of guys. Some commented on how they like a girl with body confidence, others commented on our–ehem–anatomy. I was shocked at how many guys said they love this fad. I asked twenty-six guys from all over the U.S.–and one from Ireland!–between the ages of 18 and 26 what they thought about high waisted shorts, and this is what I found. Being an aficionado of this style, I decided to conduct my own poll. However, there is a rumor going around that guys do not find this recycled style attractive. ![]() They are a wardrobe staple, and I know I can’t get enough of them. High waisted shorts have made a comeback since their brief hiatus in the 90s and 2000s, remember when low-rise jeans were popular? I’m glad the whale tail is no longer a thing. Also, I’ll read over your old posts for more information. Would you recommend memorizing squares to increase speed? Right now I just know them up to 15. I’ve used it a lot in algebra, but I never considered how it lends itself to mental math (cool stuff). You also mentioned the difference of two squares. I just bought Arthur Benjamin’s book, so I’ll start reading through that. One method may lend itself better to a particular calculation, or the problem might just strike you in a way where it happens to fit with one system over another. I didn’t consider it at first, but in hindsight it makes sense learning multiple methods. I appreciate you taking the time to explain things. Thank you so much for the information, Kinma. I’ll be happy to explain any of the methods used above. Something you need when you get to 20x20. If both the 9 proof and the 11 proof come out correct you can be certain that your answer is correct.Īlso it builds your mind to be able to juggle large numbers. This will tell you wether your answer is correct. Imo, it is best to start out using all the systems and calculating a multiplication using them all.Ģ0 X 30 + 20 X 7 +30 X 3 + 3 X 7 = 600 + 140 + 90 + 21 = 851Īlso learn to do the 9 proof and 11 proof. IMHO, there just isn’t any system that is best.ĭepending on the numbers given there is a generic method and there are shortcuts. There didn’t seem to be a consensus about which mental math system is best. Any guidance at all would be greatly appreciated. My suspicion is that one method may work best with smaller numbers (like 4 x 4) and lend itself more to rapid calculation without looking at written numbers, whereas another system–maybe like the one Granth Thakkar uses–may be better suited for longer calculations but would be inherently cumbersome without looking at numbers for reference. In the video, however, he looked at the numbers for reference, and he wrote down numbers as they were computed. I’m leaning towards Arthur Benjamin’s method (although I’ve never seen him compute square roots), but my concern is that I’ll invest 100 hours or so in one method just to find out that it’s deficient in one particular area, or an entirely different method is superior.ĭoes anybody know what system Granth Thakkar uses? I saw a video of him (or perhaps it was a similar competitor) doing 20 x 20 multiplication in his head. I’d also (ideally) like the number to be produced from left to right, if possible. I’m looking for a system that allows for rapid multiplication of large numbers (maybe up to 4 x 4) and computation of square roots (and perhaps other fractional powers), and I’d like to do this without looking at written numbers for reference. I’m guessing this is because “best” really depends on what you’re hoping to achieve, so I’ll start there. ![]() ![]() I actually did read through all the others, but there didn’t seem to be a consensus about which mental math system is best. ![]() My role will therefore be to adapt to the psychology of the student, find the source of the blockage and do everything to remedy it.Ĭoncretely, it is to return to the dark areas or even the bases of the course according to the difficulties of the student, and make him understand the logic through simple explanations, concrete and very pictorial examples all this by making the course as pleasant as possible.I apologize for what probably appears as a redundant thread. The total distance around the outside of a kite is known as the perimeter of a kite. Here, a,b,c, and d are the sides of the trapezium.Ī kite has two pairs on each side. Hence, the formula of the perimeter of a trapezium is given by The perimeter of a trapezium is calculated by adding all its sides. H is the height of the trapezium and a,b are the bases of a trapezium. The area of the trapezium can be calculated by taking the average of the two bases of a trapezium and multiplying by its altitude. Here, a and b are the length of the equal sides of the parallelogram. The perimeter of a parallelogram is the measurement is the total distance of the boundaries of a parallelogram. The area of a parallelogram is the area occupied by it in a two-dimensional plane. Some important formulas of Trapezium, Kite, and Parallelogram are given below. What do we call parallel sides of the trapezium Pair of non-parallel sides are perpendicular Which of the following quadrilaterals is a regular quadrilateral? It is said that Chinese philosophers Mozi and Lu Ban were the ones to come up with the shape kite in the 5th century BC. In fact, there’s a bone in our wrist which is also called a trapezium. Orion Nebula, a group of stars in the sky, is also known as a trapezium. Parallelepiped is a 3D parallelogram and is formed when you shear the opposite sides of a square or a rectangle. The word “parallelogram” has its origin in Latin roots in the 16th century, it was formed from the Latin words “Parallelos” which literally means parallel, and “gramme” which means line. Hence, the perimeter of the trapezium is 30cm. Solution: Perimeter of trapezium= sum of all its sides Find the perimeter of a trapezium whose sides are 6cm ,7cm, 8cm, and 9 cm Hence, the area of a parallelogram is 35 sq cm.ģ. Solution- Given, Base = 5cm and Height = 7 cm Find the area of a parallelogram whose base is 5 cm and height is 7cm. Find the perimeter of kite whose sides are 21cm and 15cmĢ. The kite can be seen as a pair of congruent triangles with a common base.ġ. The angles of a kite are equal whereas the unequal sides of a kite meet. The smaller diagonal of a kite divides it into two isosceles triangles. The main diagonal of a kite bisects the other diagonal. The two diagonals of a kite bisect each other at 90 degrees. Here are some important properties of a kite:Ī kite is symmetrical in terms of its angles. Right trapezium- A right trapezium includes at least two right angles.Ī kite is a quadrilateral with two pairs of adjacent and congruent (equal-length) sides. Scalene Trapezium- All the sides and angles of a scalene trapezium are of different measures. Isosceles Trapezium- The legs or non parallel sides of an isosceles trapezium are equal in length. The trapezium is of three different types namely: The legs or non parallel sides of an isosceles trapezium are congruent. It implies that two adjacent angles are supplementary. The sum of two adjacent angles is equal to 180°. The sum of the interior sides of a trapezium is equal to 360 degrees i.e., ∠A + ∠B +∠C +∠D = 360° ![]() ![]() The sides of a trapezium that are not parallel are not equal except in isosceles trapezium The diagonals of the trapezium intersect each other One pair of opposite sides are parallel in trapezium Here are the different properties of a trapezium: ![]() The h is the distance between the two parallel sides which represent the height of the trapezium. In the above figure, we can see sides AB and CD are parallel to each other whereas sides BC and AD are non-parallel. Sometimes, the parallelogram is also considered as a trapezoid with two of its sides parallel. The trapezium is also known as a trapezoid. The parallel sides of a trapezium are called bases whereas non-parallel sides of a trapezium are called legs. The trapezium is a type of quadrilateral with two of its sides parallel. The three different types of a parallelogram are: If any of the angles of a parallelogram is a right angle, then its other angles will also be a right angle.
